Richmond wreck
The Amissville Volunteer Fire Department transported one man to Fauquier Hospital on Monday after he was injured in a car accident on Richmond Road. According to the sheriffs office report, only one vehicle was involved in the wreck.
E-mail scams
Several county residents have reported e-mail scams recently to the sheriffs office, Sheriff Connie Smith said.
The most common scam is an e-mail that tells the recipients they have won a portion of a large lottery jackpot. They can receive a check to deposit if they send a specified amount of money back to the lottery company. But the check ends up being fake and people who fall for the scam lose the money they send to the socalled lottery company.
Smith said no one should send money or financial information in response to such e-mails or phone calls.
