noticed, The Rappahannock News has gotten smaller. Our sections have been combined since the beginning of the year. Ad revenue is down across the board. Not only for us, but for our other sister papers as well. And, Times Community, is not the only newspaper chain that is hurting in this tough economy.
Each year the Virginia Press Association, of which we are a member, holds a convention at which editors, writers, photographers, and page designers are honored for their work. It is a prestigious affair and very validating for journalists, particularly community journalists who are usually driven by other aspirations other than financial gain, who are given kudos by a panel of their peers.
