Mr. Forbergh, a representative from the tax department in Richmond,, appeared before the Board of Supervisors at the first meeting of the yea*, January 4, and discussed the general reassessment on real estate in Rappahannock county required in 1950. This re-assessment was discussed by the board and continued for a future date.
The board approved the audit of Robert (L. Brown, former deputy treasurer, who qualified for county treasurer on December 2$ and was appointed by Judge J. R. H. Alexander to fill the unexpired term of the late treasurer, C. R. Wood, which ^terminates December 31, 1951.
The county welfare tentative budget for the fiscal year lOfift1951, and a request by the department for additional funds were submitted to the board. Much discussion ensued and a request was made by the board for a report as to whom and for what purpose the additional funds asked for would be used before any action would be taken in the future by the board.
