Mr. Morse spent some time in China, Japan, Korea, and Manchuria, exploring or different Varieties of soybeans. On these trips small farmers and .their , wives brought him their favorite seeds, taught him their ways of growing and cooking soybeans. He returned with hundreds of varieties, many of which contributed to improving strains already here. His research developed varieties for different parts of the country, increased the oil content of some varieties, improved others for food, including the vegetable soybean now grown for canning
farms, price inducements for heavy feeding in 1350 may not be as great as in 1949. On other farms, however, heavy feeding of dairy cows will provide an outlet for some of the unusually large feed supplies. Average output per cow for the nation as a whole will he high in 1950. Since numbers of cows may increase, the total milk output may be at least as great as in 1949, possibly greater.
