This story comes from Huntly:

Two men went hunting.’ They had guns and they brought home nothing. '

One man did not go hunting. He had no gun and he brought home a 3 -pound pheasant which he had shot.

Let's go back and start over. Eugene Williams and Sill North were hunting Tuesday. Nat|ally, they had guns. Charles Corder wanted them to help him with some building and he went out in search far them. As he found them, a yrd was spotted.

“It’s a duck,” says one of the hunters.

“If yoU. think it’s a duck, lend me jrour Irifle and I’ll shoot it,” said Colder.

So, Charles Corder, who didn’t go hunting and didn’t have a gun, btdught*-FtOihrthe 3^-pound pheasant. He has the tail-feathers at Huntly post office as proof of the story. *’

Shiloh WMU To Meet_

In Culpeper January 7

There will be an all-day conference of the Shiloh W.M.U. workers at the Baptist church in Culpeper on Saturday, January 7. Miss Rees Watkins, the new young people’s secretary, will be present. All young people’s directors are jirged to be present to meet her and strive towards a 100-per cent attendance record at this meeting.

Hen Lays Large Egg ■

An egg of unusually large size which measured 8 5-8 inches the long way and 6 3-8 inches around the center, and . which looked as big as a turkey egg was laid' on Wednesday, January 4, by a New Hampshire hen which is one of the flock belonging to ReV. R. H. Scroggins at his farm near Washington.

Dick Scroggins reported that his father’s flock of hens had been laying from one to four eggs a week with double yokes for the past couple of weeks. Mr. Scroggins said the chicks jgrere purchased from Loving’s Hatchery in Culpeper.
