‘The Year Before Us‘”
Gone is 1949—To me it was a good year, of course, it had its ups and downs. ^Looking back over the past we realize that—
it’s a life of smiles
and a life of tears
a life of hope
and a life of fears, and with the sweet we must take the bitter.
Last Saturday night at 12 sharp, Father Time, to the accompaniment of horns, firecrackers, and happy people singing “Auld Lang Syne” ushered in the new year—1950.
Last year was successful, but this year can be more successful.
We’ll cherish a happy memory of 194.) and the past years, -hut we'll look to the present. *
Youth -is a happy time. Let’s cram into our youth everything we can.
Whatever we do, whether studying our lessons, or playing basketball, let's put our heart into it and give of our best.
