Our Paper
Several years ago the pupils of Washington High School became interested in publishing a school paper. The F.F.A. boys, who were its first publishers, racked their brains for a suitable name for the paper. To make the selection democratic, a box was put up and any pupil could submit the name of his preference by merely droping it into this box. The names were then taken ovt and voted on by the pupils of W.H.S. Thus, by pupils from the town of Washington and from all over Rappahannock county the name was selected. '
The name, “Little WashingtonPost,” was chosen by a large majority, for many pupils read, either in the school library or at their' homes, the paper published in Washington, D. C., “The Washington Post,” and the name “Little Washington Post” seemed to put before them a worthy publishing aim.
For the last few years the Student Council aided by numerous pupils has supervised our school paper.
