4-H Leader Training
Meeting Set May 25
Miss Ann Willis, district agent at large of V.P.I., will be in the county on May 25 to conduct a 4-H Clothing Leader Training meeting. The following leaders are supposed to attend: Mrs. Edna Wayland, Mrs. Kathryn Riley, Mrs. Clarence Scott, Mrs. Doris Coughlin, Mrs. Frank Cary, Mrs. • Pearl Mills, Mrs. Louise Brills* Mrs. Lewis Harrison, Mrs. Stanley Williams, and Mrs. Marie Williams. The leaders will be informed as to what they will try to do this summer in 4-H work.
Burke Property Not Sold
The Albert Burke property at, Woodrille, adjacent to the property of George ®kij»-*nd Hill O’Bannon, remained unsold at the i conclusion of the public auction held Friday, May 12. According to reports, the highest bid was $2000 and the value at which the property was set was $2100. All of the personal property was sold at a good price.
J. B. Johnson of Sperryville was the auctioneer. Future plans for the disposal of the property have not been made.
100-Bushel Corn Club
Will Meet Friday
A committee meeting of the 100-Bushel Corn Club will be held at the county agent’s office Friday, May 19, at 8 o’clock.
Committee members of the club appointed by the agronomy committee are John Tapp and Will Hughes of Amissville, Earl Kilby of Woodville, Norman Grimsley of Castleton, Nelson Atkins of Flint Hill, Irving Corbin is the F.F.A. representative, Dick Atkins, the 4-H representative, and William G. Eastham represents the veterans’ class.
