Baby Beef Sells Out

The Bobjr Atkins baby beef, put up for sale at cost at the Sperryville Locker Plant Friday, > May 12, was completely sold out by Saturday morning. The cuts of beef proved to be very delicious and tender. Parties who ate their euts of meat on Friday came back the next day to inquire about ... purchasing more, but there was not a sufficient supply to' go around a second time. The 12 pounds of T-bone steak sold for 11.12 per pound, and the cheapest cuts of stew meat brought 35c a pound. The b6ef, after being dressed, was graded U.S. Choice.
The 4-H boy’s calf was bred on the farm of John S. Buckner and it was purchased at the show and sale in Charlottesville by the Sperryville Locker Plant. It wad butchered at Sben-Valley, TimberViUe. : --V *
