The positions held at Washing* ' ton Co-operative Fruit Growers, Inc., by C. E. Johnson, Jr., and Lucio J. Kilby are the same that they hold in the Rappahannock Co-op. Fruit Growers.
Rappahannock Co - ep. Fruit Growers, Inc., was organised in 1986 and began packing in 1937.' f: An average of 100,099 bushels pf. apples have been handled annually by this co-operative, located at Sperryville.
This new management is greeted by many as a mark of progress in co-operation by the two plants. It is seen as a county-wide unification to bring combined benefits to all, to give every orchardist a larger market, and allow profit by the additional, strength of unity.
It is an appropriate time to _offer congratulations to the stockholders of both co-operatives in the fine show of willingness to work together for the good of all.

Grand Jury
The preliminary hearing of the Commonwealth versus Raymond W. Dearing was conducted Tuesday afternoon by Trial Justice B. M. Miller. Dearing was held for the grand jury on two counts: leaving the scene of a crime with, out offering assistance (hit and run) and involuntary manslaughter.
Dearing was arrested by ToWn Sergeant Clyde Jenkins and Sheriff J. W. Critzer following the death of Mrs. J. E. Updike and her infant daughter iwho vfere struck by an auto while walking on the side of the highway near Washington Saturday night, June 17.
