The 1950 Southwide Conserve tion Jamboree was held in t'Ae Log Cabin Community, Hancock county, Georgia, August 18. The Jamboree is sponsored by the Association of Soil Conservation Districts in 12 Southern states and the Association for the Advancement of Negro Country Life.
R. L. A. Reid of Unionville, Orange county, was selected as Virginia's Number 1 Soil Conservation Farmer of 1950. Following is an article written by Reid that should be an inspiration to many colored farmers. «
