MISS VERNER ASSUMES NEW PLACE AT DUNN LORING
Miss Phyllis Verner of Washington left Tuesday to assume duties as a practical nurse in the Riff Nursing Home near Dunn Loring.
For 12 years Miss Verner .was the ever-accommodating “Phyllis” of the telephone switchboard at Washington. When the dial phones came int Miss Verner turned her talents to the newspaper office and helped get the Rappahannock ; 'News launched in the county. Sip * also served as Washington correspondent for The Virginia Star. k
During her stay at the desk at the News office, many < times. people would come in and not recognize her until she spoke. “Phyllis” Was an old friend of theirs by way of the phone, but they knew her only by voice.

Mrs. Mildred Thornton Fletcher ( . purchased last week the farm now ‘ known as the Johnny Dodson place located about three miles from Wpodville and two n^les from Sperryville on the north side of the highway. > There is a small cabin on tbe property.
It is thought that this is the location of “Buena Vista,” a school of a former day. A few of the pupils of this school are known to hava been James H. Fletcher, William Meade Fletcher and Jus-tice . George
