In Memoriam_ _,

Whereas, Almighty God has seen fit, in His infinite wisdom to call home his servant, our beloved brother, C. Russell Wood;

And whereas, Brother Wood labored long and faithfully in the service of the Flint Hill Baptist church, he beings a life member of the Board of Deacons and treasurer of the Sunday school for more than twenty years;

And whereas, he gave of his time freely and unstintedly to the work of his church and his denomination, never shirking a task that presented itself and never counting the cost in time or otherwise that his work demanded, ever putting the work of his Savior before his earthly activities; never losing sight of his duties to bis home and family wherein he was a devoted husband; showing always kindness and regard for his fellow man as his Savior taught. •

And whereas, his passing has brought grief to those who labor after him, even though in the knowledge that his life was well spent and that he has been gathered to his Heavenly Father;

It is resolved that a page be set aside in the minutes book of the Flint Hill Baptist church as a memorial to his life and work and that a copy of these resolutions be sent to his family and that they be published in the Religious Herald as a testimony to the love and respect in which Brother Wood was held by this congregation.

HOME DECORATION CONTEST WILL BE JUDGED DEC. 26

Judging of the home decoration in Washington will be made Tuesday, December 26 at 7:30.

At this time the judges will make their rounds. This warning is given so that lights may be turned on, or any necessary lastminute straightening will give the contestant a fair chance.

The aim of the Auxiliary to the Fire Department this year eras to see every home in the town decorated for the Christmas season.
