It nas been pointea our mat chambers of commerce and other civic bodies frequently put forth strong efforts and spend considerable sums of1 money to seek the recognition that has come to us voluntarily. Since other counties are eager for the honor of being the summer music center of the State, and the requirements to meet the conditions of the State organization are so mild and reasonable, it seems likely that there will be sufficient response to assure the establishment of the proposed center by the spring of next year.
Since the State orchestra is a purely non-profit organization and offers to bring competent music teachers here for the summer, and train young people in music and provide several high-class concerts for this community if we show enough interest to provide a modest sum of money through patronage memberships and contributions, it seems that the county huts everything to gain and nothing to lose by accepting the honor placed before it.
Several suggestions for housing the concerts are being considered, including the use of one of the school buildings at least for the
