MISS M. A. RUSSELL DIES FRIDAY AT HUNTLY HOME y
Miss Mary Ann Russell died unexpectedly Friday at her home in Huntly. She 'was a daughter of the late Warner Russell and Annie Clarke Russell, and she had been employed by Mrs. George Barnett for 30 years;
The deceased is survived by one sister, Mrs. Elmo Jordan of Amiss, ville; two brothers, Minor Russell of Huntly, and Warner Russell, Jr., of Washington, D. C. A number of nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services were held Monday at 2 o'clock from Huntley Baptist church, with Elder Smith Timbers officiating, assisted by Rev. L. B. Banks and Elder Moses King. Interment was in the family burial plot.
Pallbearers were Clarence Turner, Willie Jett, Robert Myers, John Adams, Henry Jordan, and William Turner. A large number • of friends served as honorary pallbearers.
Mr. and Mrs. James Fletcher are receiving congratulations on the birth of a daughter, Carol, born January 21, in Philadelphia. Mrs. Fletcher is the former Miss Georgia Fletcher, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Fletcher of Washington. Mrs. James Dade, Mrs. Virginia Fletcher, and Mrs. Maria Fletcher spent the week end in Philadelphia with Mr. and Mrs. James Fletcher.
Ted and Charlotte Barbour are on the sick list with mumps.
Mrs. Ceola Carroll of Baltimore, Md., was a recent guest of her mother, Mrs. Mildred Green, and sister, Mrs. Lena Timbers. Mrs. Cornelia Perry and a friend from Baltimore were recent guests of Mrs. WiU Timbers and Mrs. Mildred Green.,
Mrs. Sara Goodes of .Detroit, and her son-in-law and daughter, and grandson, of Washington, D. C., were guests Tuesday of Miss < 5 Mildred Timbers.
Tuesday guests of Mrs. Hattie Jackson were her sister, Mrs. Nellie Clark, of Scrabble and two daughters, Mrs. Ollie M. Jackson of Woodville and Mrs. Mary Hunt-— or of Culpeper, and granddaughter, Miss Mary Ann Hunter, of Culpeper.
