Cancer Control Program

Ways la which volunteer workers can more effectively conduct' a cancer control program at the, local level will he discussed at meetings to be held by the Virginia Division, American Cancer (Society, in Charlottesville, Williamsburg, and Roanoke the second week in February, according to Mrs. I. M. Hufford, of Alexandria, State Commander, who will preside.
Invited to these meetings are chapter presidents, education, service and campaign committee chairmen, regional and district commanders, the State president and field representatives. -
Speakers will include Ed Phillips of Richmond, president of the Virginia Division, other key persons in the organization, and local doctors.
The program will include discussions on “The Nature of Cancer,” ‘The Cancer Problem Today,” “The American Cancer Society Program,” “The Role of the Volunteer,” and “Education and Service Programs.”
The meetings are scheduled as follows: Charlottesville, at the Albemarle Hotel; Tuesday, February 6; Williamsburg, the Williamsburg Lodge, Wednesday, February 7, and Roanoke, the Patrick IJenry Hotel, Friday, February 9.

Entertain With Luncheon
- Mr. and Mrs. D- D. Miller had as their luncheon guest Monday at their home, “Maple Spring,” Mr. Graham, field representative of American Red Cross, of Washington, D. C., Mr. Graham was here to help organize the defense— plans and the organize the drive for the American Red Cross in Rappahannock county. Also, while here, Mrs. Graham assisted in the organization of»classes which are to be given in first aid and home nursing. These classes are to be held at the home of Dr. and Mrs. John P. Snead at Sperryville.

Cas't of “Bride to Bum”
Mr. and Mrs. John S. Browning tntertained the cast of “Bride to Burn,” Saturday evening. “Bride to Burn” is a play to be given - in Flint Hill at a near date.
Those present included Mrs. G. W. Smith, Jr., Mrs. R.-L. Massie, Mrs. Barbara Gentry, Mrs. Brue Wood, Miss Nancy Moore, Charles '*■. Wood, and Claude Cook. Lide ... Dealring, Johnny McGehee, and • Mr. and Mrs. Browning are also in the cast.
Mr. and Mrs. G. W. Smith, Jr., entertained the cast of the play on Tuesday.
