Mr*. John P. Snead, Jr., entertained the bridge club and other guests Thursday evening at her heme near Sperryville. Those playing were Mrs. L. J. Kilby, Mrs. Carroll Menefee, Mrs. Z. H. Sealock, Miss Louise O’Bannon, Mrs. Fred Schaefer, Mrs. R. G. Quaint, ance, Mrs. George L. Taylor, Mrs. P. Lee Thornton, Mrs. W. H. Lyne, Mrs. R. M. Menefee, Mrs. R. E. Wood, Mrs. Holmes Hall* Mrs. J. H. Aylor, Mrs. Billie Kilby, Mrs. Maude Gore, Mrs. Charles Estes, Mrs. C. H. H. Branch, Mrs. C. JE. Johnson, Mrs. John Davis, and Mrs. If. B. Winfrey. The high score prize for the club member was awarded Mrs. Winfrey and Mrs. Maude Gore won the guest prize. The low score prizes went to Mrs. Carroll Menefee and Mrs.Billie Kilby. A salad course was served by the hostess, assisted by her daughter Miss Betty Snead.
CELEBRATES 85th BIRTHDAY
R. E. Luttrell celebrated his 85th birthday last Sunday at his 'home at Amissville. '
Visitors in the home of Mrs. Henry T. Wharton at Amissville Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. T. H. Utz and family, Lois, Donald, Harold Ray, Marjorie Ann, Billy and Margaret of Estes.
Frank Kinsey and grandson, Rickie, of Front Royal; Mr. and Mrs. James H. Brown and family, Jimmie and Jean, of Woodville;and Mr. and Mrs. Archie Clatterbuck and daughters, Betty and Dot, were guests Sunday of Mrs. Henry T. Wharton at Amissville.
Mr. and Mrs. John E. Wharton and daughter, Margaret Ann, of Amissville were week-end visitors in Front Royal.
