Bowersett-Settle
The wedding of Miss Carol Magruder Settle, daughter of Mr, and Mrs. James Minor Settle of Flint Hill, to Roswell S. Bowersett, son of Mr. and Mrs. S. Frank Bowel'sett of Laurel, Maryland, took place Saturday afternoon, February 3, in the home of the bride’s parents. The Rev.. Norman J. Flythe performed the double ring ceremony before a background of palms, white carnations, gladioli, and candlelabra.
Miss Jane Brauer of Richmond played the wedding music and Miss Mary Ann Settle of Powhatan, cousin of the bride, sang “I Love Thee” and “The Lord’s Prayer.”
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a gown of candlelight satin with sweetheart neckline, appliqued with imported lace, fashioned with long tapering sleeves and a bustle back ending in a train. Her veil was flingertip length and fell from a cap of satin trimmed with seed pearls. She wore a string of pearls, a gift of the groom, and carried 41 prayer book covered with a white orchid. .
