Good Music Will Be

Good Influence '

It seems that the interest is growing in the Blue Ridge Music Festival. This is a move toward a high ideal and if it proves to he the success we are hoping, it will prove to be a great influence for good with the coming generation.

There are so many places of amusement and of sice that aae influencing our young and old that we wonder what we are coming to. To place before our boys and girls the higher ideals of music, and the possibility that they can do something worthwhile in producing this kipd of music will be fine. To bring this to our community, to our own back door, ■Will be wonderful. Surely any father or mother would be proud i of that son or that daughter who could do this.

I am sure that no one expects many of our Blue Ridge youngsters to become great musicians, although who knows but what more than we expect may have musical talents in the rough. But this wiU, no doubt, cause many to become more interested in better music and a higher class ‘ of entertainment. '

This music Festival will be only a few weeks in the summer, but the musicians that are being trained here will go with the Virginia Orchestra and other musical entertainers that we will have opportunity to hear at many places in the counties and cities around us through the rest of the year. —
