As part of the. 33,000 volt loop installation, NVP Company crews also carried on a substation buildin* and reconversion program.
This substationr work included the installation of all equipment necessary for four 33,000 volt circuits and two transformer banks at Luray, Virginia. Here also, a three bay steel tower, a 8,000 kv transformer and three 15kv oil circuit breakers were put into service. Cost: Over $81,000.
A $28,000 substation was erected at Sperryville, Virginia. Structures were installed with air break switches in preparation for oil circuit breakers in the future.
At Brightwood, Virginia transformer connections were, changed from 22,000 volts to 33000 volts.
