Howard Aubrey Hawkins, of Clifton, took as his bride Miss -Shirley Leo Steadman, of Falls Church in a 4:30 o'clock ceremony ; at Columbia Baptist Church, Falls Church. The pastor, the Rev. Mr. Hawkins is the grandson of the late William M. Hawkins, of Rappahannock, and is the son of f the late Aubrey M. Hawkins. Before her marriage, his mother was Miss Hattie Hudson. The Hawkins - family were builders in Rappahannock for over a century.
The bride was lovely in a tra-"' ditional gown of candlelight satin '•fashioned with a long sleeved . bodice, topped by a high sheer ' yoke outlined in shadow lace for' a decollete effect. The full gathered skirt, offset by a matching lace peplum at the hip line, extended into a graceful train. Her fingertip veil of bridal illusion was held . in place by a dainty tiara of seed •pearls. The bride carried a white ? Bible and orchid. i i
The church was beautifully dec- : orated with a variety of white flowers, and was lighted with . • candles.
Miss Eleanor Ann Steadman,. sister of the bride, was maid of honor, and was dressed in a pale ' jonquil-yellow net over satin ballerina length gown. The other attendants were Miss Rita Downs, of Arlington, in pale green; Misa Frances Wagner, of Arlington, in lavender; Miss Sue Ledford, of North Carolina, and Falls Church, in pale green; and Miss Mary Mc--~ Cauley of Dunn Loring, in lavender. The bridesmaids earned cas- . cades of gladiolus in corresponding colors.
Miss Ruth Ellen Steadman, a “young cousin of-the ferine, was the flower girl, and was dressed in an ice-blue net over taffeta gown. Master Graham Searle, of Clifton, was ring bearer for the double ring ceremony. * > " Ralph HawkinB, brother of the' groom, was best man.
