Cook prunes TO minute* in about Vi cup of water. Remove pit*. Cut prunes Into medium-sized pieces. Heat fat or salad oil in frying pan. Saute pnion and mushrooms 5 minutes. Add tomato sauce; cook 5 minutes longer. Add prunes, chops, salt, pepper and 2 cups water. Cover; simmer 1 hour. Add remaWng water as needed. Yield; 4 servings.
