The ladies heard reports of the various committees, and answered the request of Mr. Hawkins, who •was present to ask that a street ^ light be put near his home on Middle street. It was noted that this was the only side street in town which had no light, and the vote was unanimous that this light be installed as soon as possible.
Mrs. Davis, the mayor, reported ~ on a communication from Game Warden C. Ennis Brown, to the effect that complaints from townspeople about dogs should be registered by reporting the tag number from the collar of the dog. If the Game Warden has the tag number, he can then contact the owner and request him to keep the dog off the street.
The town council agreed to pass resolutions approving the forthcoming music festival to the county.
The treasurer’s report showed that the ladies had been very economical with the spending of the town’s funds. Money paid out since they came into office in September amounted to about $400, leaving over f800 in the checking account, not counting the $3000 on savings. The revenue due annually to the town is about $1800._
