Tree* are - no different than any other crop for they must be systematically re* plenished. By applying the proper scientific forestry methods, the harvesting of essential timber can go on endlessly.
Timber is about the only crop you can take off when yon want to and not (when it wants to be harvested. If the market is not good, you can just let the crop stand, increasing in value until such time as the market ktoks enticing to you. It’s the only crop, once it’s well established, that can continue to yield crops indefinitely without repeated plantings provided proper cutting'practices are followed. Moreover, the “cultivation” and harvesting of the crop can be done when there is no conflict with other work. In other words, when timber is your crop you don’t have that old fight of haying needing to be done just when the corn needs cultivating.
