With Mr*. Nina B. Brown, pres- ■ iden/t, presiding, the resultr'“ monthly meeting of the Woman* Society of Christian Service, of the Sperryville Methodist church, was held in the home of Mrs. George W. Brown Thursday evening' with eight members present. During the business session dues were collected and plans were discussed for making some necessary, repairs to the church. Mrs. George Brown had charge of the program, using as the subject "The Health of the American Indians”. Mrs. Virginia M. Lewis gave a reading on "Progress under Civil Control,” next was “Deprivations Du* to Inadequate Budget” by Mrs. H. H. Aylor, Jr. Mrs. J. B. Johnson read an article on ''The Role of the Woman’s Society of Christian Service”, as a part of the program a hymn “The Kingdom is Coming” was read. Mrs. Brown read a very instructive article and dismissed the group with prayer.

Meters Last Month
A statement has been issued by R. V. Snead to the effect that the minimum water bill was sent out last month for the Washington water bills, because of ice the meters were not read. A double minimum will be subtracted fromthe total meter reading in figuring the bills for February.
