Junior Class Host to Seniors
The Juniors of Rappahannock County High School, class of ’52, entertained the Seniors at a picnic supper and movie party at Old Hickory Tea Room in Culpeper Thursday, May 17. The students left the school at four o’clock via' school bus, with the intrepid and efficient John Walker Jenkins as chauffeur. It was only on the return trip that John Walker found it -*-er,—ah— expedient to surrender his duties to the equally capable George Lawrence.
After a picnic supper, consisting of hot dogs, potato salad and chips, pickles, pie, and soft drinks, the group was entertained briefly by watching the Falmouth—Culpeper H. S. teams “warming up” for their night game. Others of the party danced to the juke box, and everyone seemed to eat continuously of the bountiful fare.
Movie time seemed to roll around all too soon for many, but others were eager to be off for the Drive-Inn Theatre, where Mr. T. I. Martin, manager of Pitts Theatres was gracious host to the party. This selection of theatres proved to be a happy one as some of the wallets in some of the iblue jeans of the Juniors were a little worn!
The entire group declared the picnjf a great success, doubtlessly caused by the fact that all who went were there because they wanted to be there. “Doubting Thomases” need only to have heard the “joyful noise” both going and coming.
