Recently I had the pleasure of meeting Albert Martin and Guy deFerandy, who are making their the me with Mr. and Mrs. Downing Wood for two months, it was very interesting talking to them of their homes in France, their families and the way of life in the other part of the world. Mr. Martin is from a little village, Haggenback Haut-Rhin, in the southern part of France, Mr. deFerandy is from a village in-the northern part of France, called Sarthe, even though they are from the same country their accent is entirely different. They had not known each other until coming to our country this spring. Mr. Martin was in World War II for three years, for a year and a half he was a prisoner of the Germans. Mr. deFerandy served as a paratrooper in the French army, he as yet is still unmarried (he is teased a great deal about trying to find a wife, he gets a big laugh from this and seems to enjoy the teasing). deFerandy is the son of an army colonel.
