Another thing which surprised him very much was seeing a well-dressed man chewing tobacco, said he had always heard America was very sanitary, “but that is dirty,” Mrs. Wood and I tried to explain to him that it was not really dirty, but just a very bad habit, he agreed it was, and also dirty.
Mr. Martin is married and is the very proud father of a son, he loVes showing you pictures of his wife (who is very pretty,, from her picture) and of his son. EJis home is only 12 miles from Germany and he speaks the German language fluently. You have no trouble understanding Mr. Martin, as his English is very good, he told us he had English in school as one of his studies. He is also a farmer.
