Judge J. R. H. Alexander
To Retire, January 1
Judge J. R. H. Alexander, who has resided over the circuit courts in -oudoun, Fauquier and Rappahannock Counties since 1929, plans to retire January 1. The judge, who became eligible for retirement August 7, has informed Governor John S. Battle of his intentions. The Governor will name a successor for a term ending thirty days after the convening of the I regular session of the General Assembly in 1954. Judge Alexander, who had formery served as commonwealth attorney, was appointed by Governor Harry F. Byrd on the death, of Judge George Latham Fletcher.
Rev. N. J. Flythe Appointed
To Asbury Memorial Charge
The Virginia Annual Conference ’Which closed on Monday, October 13, at Norfolk, appointed Norman J. Flythe to the Asbury Memorial Charge near Danville. The Asbury Memorial Charge consists of two churches, Brosville and Providence, located on the road from Danville to Martinsville. Mr. Flythe will be followed on the Rappahannock circuit by Rev. J. David Menchhofer. ■ Mr. Menchhofer is a native of East Lansing, Michigan and attended Hope College in Holland, Michigan and Westminister Theological Seminary in Westminister, Maryland. Mrs. Menchhofer is a native of Pattersonville, N.Y.
Rev. Norman J. Flythe will conduct services at the following Methodist Churches Sunday, October 19: Willis Chapel, 10 o’clock; Flint Hill, 11 o’clock; Oak Shade, 3 p.mti and Sperryville, 7:30 p.m.
