New Signs To Be Erected
At County Line -
County name traffic signs will be erected at the county line on all Secondary roads coming into Rappahannock County, as part of a State wide plan to designate the county boundaries on all farm-to*market roads.
In announcing the plan to erect the new signs, the State Highway Department stressed that the markers have no le^al status, but are only informative. Frequently, they explained, the line may be in the middle of a stream, while the makers will be placed at bridge ends to simply tell the traveler that he is entering another county.
While their principal function will be to inform the traveler of his location on the highway, the signs will probably serve other purposes., H.J, Neale, landscape engineer for, the State Department, pointed out that different hunting, fishing and other laws exist in various counties and the signs will be a guide to the territory.
They will also proclaim in large black letters that the traveler is entering Rappahannock County.
