all, but that’s because all people don’t express their opinions.

The editor is not on the fence.. Like every other voter, a right may be exercised to keep your ballot secret However, there is no reason for it, since this is a free country and no Gestapo awaits me if rny views do not agrde with the powers-that-be.

The editor of Rappahannock News is a Democrat. I have read both the Republican party platform (the whole thing) and the Democratic party platform. I do not approve of either in entirety, but more of the Democratic party principles meet with my approval than those of the Republican. I approve of the Democratic candidate more because of his experience as governor of a state than I do of the Republican with experience solely in the military. I don’t like some of the associates of either candidate; there is no choice in this line.

Were there any where on the ballot to mark an X in a block to disapprove of the Truman administration, that I would do with a right good will. I’ve seen the ballot: it has two blocks, one says the Republican party electors, and the other says the Democratic party electors. There’s no middle ground; it has to be either one or the other.

I shall mark the Presidential ballot with no particular pleasure; but that ballot for Byrd and Burr Harrison will give me enough satisfaction to make up for the others.
