To Manage Baseball Team
The meeting on Monday night of the firemen and those interested in playing baseball proved a success. Thirteen persons were present and from the number of players pledged to be on the team, it seems certain that a team will be organized.
Those present decided to ask D. Lyle Miller Jr. to be manager of the team. , Friday night, April 3, was set for a most important meeting as all the players are urged to be present for ■ measurements of uniforms and decide on other essential equipment. It is most important for all three fire chiefs with their assistants to be on hand.
First practice will be Sunday, April 5 at 2 p.m. on the Rappahannock High School baseball diamond. If anyone is interested in playing, be sure to be present. If or when organized, this team will be a member of the Northern Virginia League I and not the Merchants' League as stated in last week’s News.
