Also Mr. Armstrong advised that a daughter of one of the V.A.B.A. Holstein bulls had just made a WORLD PRODUCTION RECORD Unfortunately her birth record is not obtainable and therefore she cannot be registered. Services to this bull will be available to any breeder in Rappahannock, an opportunity available through Association membership. The membership fee for the first year is $5 and $1 per year thereafter. To get service members should do the following:
1. Call Gordon Thornhill, phone Sperryville 3410 (listed in Cary Thornhill’s name) between 7 and 10 a.m. if you have a cow in heat and wish service* t"
(a) Requests for service received before 10 am. will be filled on the same day.
(b) Requests for service received after 10 am. will be filled the next day. 2. When requesting service give:
(a) Your name and location
(b) Breed of cow
(c) First or repeat service
(d) Time heat was first observed 3. After service is requested:
(a) Keep cow tied in stanchion
(b) Tie a string around her tail so inseminator can identify her.
(c) Place $7 check payable to Rappahannock Breeding Ass’n. or coupon book for breeding fee and registration papers, if she is registered, in a glass jar or tin can near the cow.
(d) Supply the inseminator with water. 4. Receive an “Approved Breeding Receipt” completely filled out from the inseminator. Keep these receipts for future reference. These receipts ar$ necessary should you ever wish
