FEDERAL AID TO SCHOOLS HAS STRINGS ATTACHED
A press release from the White House last week disclosed that by next September the Department of Defense expects to have established "Complete integration” of the schools it operates cm federal property. That means there will be no racial segregation in these schools, including the ones located at Dahlgren, Quantico and Chincoteague, Virginia. The announcement also stated that there were ‘complications” in the case of other schools winch are operated by state authorities on federally owned property (apparently referring to the conflict between the federal policy and state laws requiring segregation) and that if these cannot be removed by conference, "other arrangements in these instances will be considered.” Virginia schools in this classification are at Fort Bel
