Luncheon
Proves Success
The Tuesday luncheon sponsored by the Ladies of the Amissville Home Demonstration Club was a success financially and socially. A total of $34.10 was realized by the Amissville Club's luncheon, which was attended by many friends and, representatives , from other communities and various clubs. The guest speaker, Miss Eva Jo Liskey of Warrenton gave a most* interesting talk on the customs, speach, dress and occupations of ^the Chilean people. She was impressed by their friendliness and courtesy toward herself and her companions., She said several times during her- talk that they were no different from our own people at heart, that we just needed to know them better to understand them and this understanding would be a step nearer to peacel among nations.
There were forty-four guests in attendance. Those from other clubs ' were as follows: Mrs. Hunter .Payne, president of this District, Marshall; Elizabeth Fuss, Mrs. Jessie Rowzie, Mrs. Ada Updike, Mrs. Alice Pullen and. Mrs. D. D. Miller of Washington; Mrs. Lloyd Llewellyn, of Elkton; Mrs. Anne Thompson, Mrs. Aleshire and Mrs. Aylor of Sperryville; Mrs. Carson Lillard, Mrs. Frank Cary Mrs. Mary R. Miller of Flint Hill; and Mrs. Clevenger, Mrs. Cropp and Mrs. Campbell of the Rixeyville club. \ >
