BYRD INTRODUCES LOYALTY BILL
As of the close of the Senate session recently (Thursday, April 1) I introduced a bill making it unlawful -to grant veterans benefits and rights to any who have advocated overthrow M of the government, belonged to organizations advocating overthrow of the government, refused to take an, oath of loyalty to the United States, been convinced of any offense involving loyalty to the United States, or, under the fifth amendment, have, refused to testify as to their loyalty.
The text of the bill follows: To make ineligible for certain rights and benefits persons who engage in disloyal acts against the United States Government, and for other purposes.
