on the merits of the 10c levy tor the school sinking fund, had lbegun and the Regional Home discussion was snowed under. Later on in the meeting, Mr. Campbell made a motion “to participate in the Regional Home for the Aged and Chronically 111, not to exceed $12,000 which will increase the levy approximately 35c.” There was no second to this motion..
As this April meeting of the Supervisors was also a public qpad hearing date, several petitions were heard !by the Supervisors and Resident Engineer P. B. Coldiron. A petition signed by Bernice Wasley, Robert Thompson, Edna 'B.' Crilley, William Fielder and Marcil Bishop, asked, that a public road, a continuation —of State Highway--N umbei 630, inWakefield District (running westward from the present end of State Maintenance of Highway No. 630), be placed on the list of additions to the State Secondary Road System. The following viewers were appointed to investigate this Route 630 and then to meet April 20 at the Court House at 9 a.m.: John R. Moore, Herbert Foster, R. H. Scroggins, Brue Wood and Emory Russell.
The other petitions included a request to improve the driveway at Amissville School. This and the others had been heard in previous meetings. The citizens were assured that -their requests would be cared for as soon as funds were available. Routine business brought before the Board of Supervisors included the awarding of sheep claims to Ellis Bennett, $40; and C. R. Wire, .$20: the filing of the Health Department report ~and the Welfare Department report and the sanctioning of various bills.
