The mob thought they took Jesus and Ibound Him by force, but He delivered Himself over to them. It was His hour for this and the mere cords with which they bound Him were nothing if He had chosen to break them. However, He was bound by obedience to the Father’s love and His own love for man and so He walked bravey to the cross marching a Divinely marked path as the Victor and not the victim.
The soldiers along with the Jews mocked Him and then took the thorns and platted a crown, then crowned Him with it. In this act man was through sin pressing back into the; very brow of God the thorns which came as a result of man’s transgression in the Garden of Eden. However they * couldn't have had any power at all over Him, had He chose to prevent it ch. 19:11. In this verse He also apportioned the responsibility of sin. Though Pilate had sined by scourging Jesus unlawfully,, his sin was not as great as that of Caiaphas because Caiaphas had sinned spiritually in the name of religion
