Out-Door Exercises
The largest class Over to gradu-, ate from R. C. H. S. were presented diplomas in exercises held Thursday in the twilight and deepening dark of the out-of-doors.
The processional began inside of' the school and moved out the left door to a stage < provided by nature) where seats jwere arranged. Below (on the outside basketball court) parents and friends of the graduates were gathered.
The Reverend John R. Frizzell presented the invocation. A Salutartory address was given by honor graduate Rudy Frye. Standing to the left of the stage, (he Glee Club, directed by Mrs. Paul Nichols, sang “Halls of Ivy.” Miss Betty Lou Rutherford told of the particular accomplishments of her class and of individuals in the class.
On behalf of the Senior Class, Miss Peggy Dodson presented a gift (proceeds from i the Senior Play) to H. B. Winfrev, principal, to be used for the purchase of black-out curtains for the school auditorium; (This would make it ( possible to have movie* there) or for another worthy purpose.
In a few brief remarks, Mr. Winfrey thanked the graduates for theiV gift to the school, and expressed his wishes for their continued success. 4 r
