Mrs. W. Arthur Miller, of' Washington, is serving as the 1955 chairman of the work for the Children’s Home Society in Rappahannock County this year, it has. been announced by Samuel M. Bemiss of Richmond, president of the organization. The drive for funds is how going on.
“The work of tne Society is for , the benefit of babiies whose own parents, because of various circum-' stances, have had to give them up' permanently, a’nd these babies come to the Society in real need of help,” Mrs. Miller pointed out.
“I hope the people of our County will give generously to this work,” Mrs. Miller added, “for the organization has meant so much to the needy children in ir • • • f Virginia.
Mrs. Miller, in outlining the work of the Society, pointed out that $35 will pay a baby’s board for one month, and that $10 will provide all clothing needed by a baby in the care of the Society until he is placed in a permanent home. Even a $2 gift will care for a baby for one day, including food and shelter, clothing, medicine and doctor’s fees.
