Edward Putnam Dies Suddenly
Funeral services were held Monday, June 6th for Edward Corbin Putnam, who died Suddenly at his home near Flint Hill on Saturday morning, June 4. Elder A. F. Suddith officiated at the > services conducted at the Royston Funeral Home, Marshall, and at the burial rites at the Orlean Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Fannie Grimsley Putnam and the following children: Mis. Wade Pullen, Flint Hill; Mrs. Harvey Whitmer and Earl Putnam, Amissville; Mrs. Tom Weaver and Mrs. Carol Pearson of Hume; Mrs. Arnold Whitmer, Manassas and Mrs. Evelyn Megeath of Front Royal. ■ ‘
The following brothers and sisters survive: Colice Putnam, Orlean; Mrs. Geneiva Payne. Amissville; Noah Putnam, Limeton, and Mrs. Inia Cameron, * Baltimore, Maryland. Nineteen grandchildren also survive.
Active pallbearers were , R. L. Rector, R. H. Dulaney, Raymond Sutphin, Tommy Eastham, W. G. Eastham and S. S. Hall.
The son of Benjamin Franklin Putnam and Alice Fishback Putnam of Hume, Mr. Putnam' spent his boyhood and several years of married life in Fauquier. He moved to Rappahannock County some 30 years ago and chose farming as his vocation. A well liked citizen.
