One hundred and two dollars -and eighty-five cents was beared by the Ladies Auxiliary to the Washington V. F. D. an. their food booth at the Executor’s (Brown’s) Sale Saturday.
The large crowd began eating early in the day when chicke 1 salad sandwiches and homemade pies were plentiful. They weie still hungry as the evening closed and hot dogs were the only eats to be found.
Among the workers at the sale were Mrs. Robert Frazier, Mrs. Edward Clark, Mrs. E1. D. Miller, Mrs. Carson Anderson, Mrs. C. T. Bruce, Mrs. Charles Reid, Mrs. L. V. Merrill, Mrs. Wade Massie, Jr., and! Mrs.
Bruce S. Bowie. Mrs. Cj)harlie «> Jenkins was in charge of ordering 1 the purchased food.
This account does not mjention by name the score of personjs “behind the scenes” who prepared and contributed the food, but if does recognize their contribution. Special thanks go also to C. T. Bruce who had the stand set up complete at 4 o’clock Saturday morning and also packed Up the remains in the afternoon and distributed them. Wade Massie also helped to return the tables, etc.
