Mrs. Miller Entertains Bridge Club
Mrs. D. D. Miller entertained the Washington Bridge Club and additional guests at her home on Thursday, Nov. 8th. Those playing were as follows: Mrs. Charles Bruce, Mrs. W. F. Moffett, Mrs. W. F. Moffett, Jr,. Mrs. John R. DeBergh, Mrs. W. H. Massie, Jr., Mrs. Harry Lee Smith, Mrs. Galley Smith, Mrs. Frank W. Spalding, Mrs. Fred Schaefer, Mrs. T. C. Lea, Mrs. Charles Palmer and D. D. Miller. Prizes were awarded' to Mrs. Smith, Mrs. Palmer and Mrs. Moffett.
Mrs. Carrie S. Kemper
Mrs. Carrie Settle Kemper died on Monday, November 5 at her home in Manasas, Virginia. Born in Flint Hill in 1878, she was the wife of the late James Gibson Kemper. She is survived by three sons, Joseph R., James Winston and Carson S. Kemper, five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Relatives in Rappahannock include James M. Settle, Mrs. Paul Miller, Mrs. C. G. Reid and Mrs. Downing Wood.
Funeral services were held on November 7 at the Presbyterian Church in Manassas with interment at Fairfax Cemetery.
