While the confused masses of our world reel from one crisis to another the people still refuse to come to the church’s worship service where they may reflect on the meaning of life as they relate their own lives to ultimate reality. This is overt rebellion against God. The impact of Jesus’s interpretation of Noah’s day is startling. If you do not put God first then you had just as well be an unseemly character of the worse deplorable kind, because you are going to be left.
The coming of Jesus is spiritually what an atomic war is physically; it will be a catastrophic event for those who are unprepared. Jesus did not tell us what will light up the sky for humanity in the ’60’s—the glory of His coming or the flash of an atomic bomb. He did give us the information that is most important, for he told us to be prepared to meet our God. To forget God in your living is to neglect the essence of life.
