Numbers play an interesting role in the Bible. Three, for instance, is a number of completeness, perfection. If you were a Hebrew child in ancient Palestine listening to the story of Noah’s family, you would instinctively know that after hearing the chapters on Noah’s grandfather and greatgrandfather, the story of Noah would be even more exciting. Noah’s great-grandfather Enoch walked with God and was one of the two men in the Old Testament who did not die.
