The first Annual Staff Meeting was held last week. This year’s Editor-in-chief is Janice Dodson, Business Manager, Virginia Bradford; and Assistant Editor, Carolyn Johnston. Members of the staff are selling ads, in hopes of having the best annual yet. Sixteen students are enrolled in Art I and IlatR. C. H. S. The direction of these classes are under Mrs. Christine T. Johnston. Art I is now working on prespective drawings, while Art II is doing landscapes in water colors. Eighth, Ninth, and Eleventh grade students are involved in a state wide testing program. These tests will be given for the next two weeks, and are composed of three series. The Differential Aptitute Test, which is given to eighth graders, is designed to measure a student’s ability to reason with words and understand and express concepts used in words and numbers; ability to see and use simple letter and number combinations; to comprehend mechanical principles; think in three dimensions; ability to spell, use proper grammar, punctuation and sentence structure. The second series, The Sequential Tests of Educational Progress, is given to ninth and eleventh grade students. This test shows how well a student is able to use what he has learned, and to measure skills that can be improved and which are important at the students’ grade level.
