The Rappahannock Lions Club held their regular dinner meeting Sept, twenty third at Hampton Inn. The meal was served, and the meeting held, in the new addition to the rest aurant. Mr. Wharton is to be complimented for providing such a facility for the people of the community. The Lions wish him well in this new endeavor. Partially because an accererated program of visitation among clubs of District 24A, there were, six visitors present. The visiting Lions were Jim Kidwell, A1 Cox and Johnny Crupper from Warrenton and William Johnson, Frank Prewaznik and Zone Chairman, Carson Taylor from Culpeper. Local Lions Paul Nichols and Wayne Hayes attended the Remington Lions Club meeting on Monday night. Visitation and remarks from visiting Lions is encouraged and appreciated by the Rap- ' pahannock Club. Lion Wayne Hayes, member, ship chairman, reported that the membership drive was progressing nicely and all merrv bers were encouraged to pre. sent at least one name fur consideration by the club at the next meeting. It was further agreed that those selected from the list would be Jmvited to hear a progcaar^on the true meaning of Lionism to be presented at the following .meeting. The apple sales began Sunday, September 27th and the result of the initial sale was highly gratifying. Fruit cakes have been distributed among the club members and all are ready to take orders and deliver cakes.
