A Game Warden who had been temporarily appointed to Rappahannock County and had served here only a week, was removed from the county by the Commission of Game and Inland Fisheries Friday at the request of local politicians, according to a spokesman for the Commission. Game Warden W. S. Mays was removed after Mr. Tom Frost, member of the House of Delegates representing Rappahannock, told the Commission the politicians of the county wanted him removed by Saturday, said the Commission spokesman. There was no personal reason as far as Mr. Mays was concerned for his removal (he hardly got his bags unpacked) but said Mr. Frost, the ones making the request preferred to wait until applications for game wardens were open latet; He referred to those making the request as the county government. The Commission said they had sent Mr. Mays to fill the position left open by the death of the former warden because he was well qualified, one of the best men they had for the position, and any county would be fortunate to get him. According to several members of the Rappahannock Board of Supervisors, they did not know of the warden's removal until it was all over and done with an one did not know he had even been here.
