An annual report of American Red Cross activities for the State of Virginia was presented to Governor Albertis S. Harrison, Jr. at the Capitol in Richmond, Wednesday, Feb. 24th. Summarizing the report. Governor Harrison praised the dedication of 32,503 volunteers in 11 chapters throughout the State, and he urged Virginia residents to continue supporting local Red Cross projects and services.
“The far-ranging fields of Red Cross endeavor, including important programs of national and international services and relief,* said the Gov ernor, “sometimes eclipse the fact that the organization is basically the embodiment of the simple ideal of neighbors voluntarily joining hands to help one another.*
