Knitting has always been a popular form of handiwork with women of all ages (and some men) and seems to be most popular at present in Rappahannock. Classes have been taught in H. D. Clubs and students seek further instruction from Mrs. Mary Cleverley, proprietor of the Village Shop in Flint Hill. Students of the needles in the Thursday night class are Mrs. Maxine Hutton, Mrs. Betty Jane Baldwin, Mrs. Cleverley, Mrs. Shirley Pullen and Mrs. Barbara Williams, all of Amissville.
